Shard End – All Saints Ownall Road ( O. S GR SP 153886 )

Building began in 1954 and was the first church to be built in Birmingham since 1938. The services were first held at first in the builder’s canteen until the church, was completed and consecrated by the Lord Bishop of Birmingham Leonard Wilson 1st Nov 1955, as a mission church of Castle Bromwich. Visited by H M Queen Elizabeth II 3rd Nov 1955
