Stourbridge: Visit to St Thomas’ Church Stourbridge

In Market Street, in the town centre, the church was initiated by a £300 legacy left by local clothier John Biggs. It is a church built for the people of Stourbridge, by the people of Stourbridge. Thought to be designed by Scottish Architect James Gibbs, completed in 1836, the church has some fine windows by Chance of Smethwick and The Bromsgrove Guild. Recently, grants particularly from Heritage Lottery Fund have made possible essential repairs, building modernisation and training of guides.
A Guided Tour with Refreshments. Cost £3-00, pre- booking essential.
