The Work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission

Speaker – Sarah Moody

Initially the Graves Registration Commission formed in 1915 by Fabian Ware, with a Royal Charter in 1917, the remit of the CWGC is the care and maintenance of the graves and memorials to Commonwealth war dead at more than 23,000 sites worldwide. Sarah is public engagement co-ordinator at the CWGC and will tell us of their work.

All registrants will be acknowledged with joining instructions included.
Registration closes at 12:00 noon the day prior and is restricted in numbers. If by the time you Register numbers are already up to the limit, your Registration will not be acknowledged until 2:00pm on the day. Only then can it be determined if there will be any “no show” and any vacant places then filled.

Meeting times are prompt, please allow yourself good time. “Doors Open” at 1:30 pm for 2:00 pm start.
