Presenter – Phil Clayton

Phils presentation will cover the past and present on the West Midlands waterways, in particular focussing on the Birmingham Canal Navigations. Our speaker will cover its development, decline and renaissance. He will describe the working days, looking at the lives and experiences of some of the people involved.

Phil is Vice President of the BCNS and their Society’s talks and presentations officer. He has written a musical, Birmingham Lads and Friends about the network and last year his “Birmingham Canal Navigations: a History” was published by The Crowood Press.
