The Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) is an intergovernmental organisation of six independent member states whose principal function is to mark, record and maintain the graves and places of commemoration of Commonwealth of Nations military service members who died in the two World Wars.
The Talk – CWGC Archives and the Architecture/Conservation work of the CWGC
This is a great opportunity to learn about the very important work carried out by the CWGC.
Speaker – Gary Broad
The talk from Gary will talk about the CWGC Archives and the Architecture/Conservation of the graveyards and memorials.Gary has written 75 stories which can be viewed on the CWGC website. Many of stories are about local servicemen who served in both World Wars. One of the stories is about Corporal Henry ‘Harry’ Drakes – Ist Bn Worcestershire Regiment
