The Slave Trader: The Story of Bryan Blundell

Ben Shaw is a local Kenilworth resident and passionate family historian. His talk will tell the story of how research into a family bible led to the unexpected discovery that he was descended from Bryan Blundell, an eighteenth-century Liverpool merchant, mariner, philanthropist and slave trader. Ben recently published the first full biography of Blundell and is delighted to share both the research journey and the remarkable story it uncovered.
