Winterbourne House Archives

An Edwardian historic house and garden nestled in a leafy corner of Birmingham, just minutes from the city centre, Winterbourne House was built in 1904 as the family home for John and Margaret Nettlefold. It was inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of Edwardian times. Under the ownership of a number of families since the Nettlefolds left in 1919, eventually bequeathed to the University of Birmingham it was in 2010 restored to its former glory.

Our speaker tonight Henrietta Lockhart, is the Collections Officer and will share with us the special objects, photographs and documents contained within the Winterbourne Archives and some of the interesting family connections which have come to light during research into the Nettlefold family.
