When we first begin to research our families often the aim is to try and get as far back as possible adding names and dates with a hope to find a link to someone famous. However, our ancestors were living breathing human beings with fascinating stories, both happy and sad. By using basic records and extracting every fact and hint and extending our research to include people and places involved with our ancestors, their stories can be discovered and a better understanding of our past revealed.
