Birmingham: Peplow Memorial Lecture – Heraldry

Wed 5th September 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm BST

  • « Executive Committee Meeting
  • Birmingham & Midland Heritage Open Day 2018 »

Title: “The Mint and I”

Gregory Cameron is the Bishop of St Asaph in North Wales. However, he is a
keen numismatist, armorist and amateur heraldic artist, and a design of his was
selected by the Royal Mint for the “last round pound”. Gregory will speak about
the role of heraldry in coinage, and explore some of his own experiences with the
Royal Mint and others in seeking to find a modern expression of this ancient art
in the coins of today.
