Wolverhampton: Commonwealth War Graves Commission

Thu 25th April 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm BST

  • Family Tree Live – Family History Fair »

Commonwealth War Graves Commission

A talk about how the Commission came into existence during WW1 and some of the obstacles it faced.  Also some social history around the founding, what records are kept and how they can be accessed.  Plus some local history and information on any current projects or local events which may be of interest.

Since the time of the Great War, what became the Commonwealth War Graves Commission has been committed to commemorating all those lost in conflict and now cares for the graves and memorials of near 1.7 million lost in two world wars.
