TREDINGTON

The parish was originally in Worcestershire, but was transferred to Warwickshire in 1931. It lies just over two miles from Shipston-on-Stour on the main road from Stratford to Oxford. It is a very attractive village and in 1973 was the winner of the 'Best Kept Small Village' competition organised by the Rural Community Council. The original church was built in 961, altered in 1315 and a number of times subsequently. Hamlets are Armscott (Armscote), Blackwell, Darlingscott and Newbold-on-Stour (which became a parish in 1836).
