BISHOP'S TACHBROOK

This attractive village, with a number of old cottages, is only about three miles south of Leamington Spa. The Bishop who owned it was the Bishop of Chester, its name dating from the Conquest. There was a mediaeval village called Tachbrook Mallory a short distance away. The manor was held by the Landor family and the poet lived there as a child. The widow of Charles Kingsley lived at Tachbrook Mallory.
