MORETON MORRELL

The village is about six miles south of Warwick and about one mile west of the Warwick to Banbury road. The church has a number of monuments to the Murden family. A large mansion built in 1906 is now the Warwickshire County Council Agricultural College. Americans have a special interest in the village for it was the home of the great-grandfather of Thomas Jefferson. The former left for Virginia in 1672.
