HONINGTON

The village is only one and a half miles from Shipston-on-Stour, and for some years was rated the best kept village in Warwickshire. It is on the banks of the river Stour which can be crossed by an attractive seventeenth century bridge. The main street is wide with green verges and a number of buildings are timber-framed. Honington Hall, with its seventeenth century facade was built by Sir Henry Parker and later occupied by the Townsend family. The church was built in 1680 but retained an earlier thirteenth century tower.
