BIRDINGBURY OR BIRBURY

The village is about six miles south west of Rugby and about the same distance north of Southam. It is known locally as Birbury. The parish has had close links with Marton, often one incumbent serving the two parishes. Birdingbury Hall is Jacobean in style. Earl Leofric gave the manor to the Benedictine monastery at Coventry and it later passed to the Shuckburghs, the Leighs of Stoneleigh and the Wheelers.
