If you are a member of BMSGH and you need a pair of hands in a distant County Record Office, this is what you do :-
- 1. Find out the location of the document you need to have searched. This is very important, so that no one is sent on an unnecessary journey.
- 2. Ask the co-
ordinator for a LINK to that particular place :
Most people will ask for a LINK by email: link.scheme@midanc.uk
If you are unable to use email, postal instructions are here
- 3. Explain which document needs searching and include any relevant information you already have. Your LINK will make a visit on your behalf and report back within 6 weeks, or will tell you immediately that it can’t be done.
In order for this scheme to work we need lots of people volunteering to do the research, so if you feel you can spare a little time to help another member please send the name(s) of the archive(s) to which you have access, an estimate of your expenses and your name and address to: link.scheme@midanc.uk
