Charges for Index Searches
Charges for searches of the Society’s indexes are as follows …….
Search Fee
In general, most indexes are £4.00 (inc. V.A.T.) non-
This fee will be charged for each index and for each surname (including variants). Details of up to three entries will be supplied for this fee, except as indicated below.
However, the diversity of holdings makes the unification of the charging structure impossible. With space limited, the description of the way charges are levied has to be succinct, which may reduce clarity. If necessary, please ask for a fuller explanation from the index holder before making a request.
Additional Charges
Marriage, Burial, Strays and Birmingham Indexes
25p per entry from 4 to 50 entries. Above 50 entries –
Separate Marriage and Burial Indexes for Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
Strays Index covers all three counties.
Warwickshire Poor Law Index
As above, except for settlement examinations which are charged at 50p each.
Staffordshire Probate Index
Search fee applies for each surname for each parish searched.
